Delete your data

Where your data lives
OmniFret has no first-party account and no server of ours, so there's nothing on our side to delete. Your data lives in at most two places:
- On your device — settings, your level and practice stats, and any Guitar Pro / PDF files you imported. This always exists.
- In your own cloud — a small backup in your Google Drive (Android) or iCloud (iOS). This exists only if you turned on sync in the onboarding step or Settings → Sync. If you never signed in to sync, you can skip the cloud steps.
Important: uninstalling the app removes the on-device data but does not delete the cloud backup. If you want the cloud copy gone too, do that step before (or instead of) uninstalling.
Delete your Google Drive backup
Option A — from inside the app (easiest)
Open OmniFret → Settings → Sync → tap "Sign out + delete cloud copy" → confirm "Delete backup". This permanently removes the backup from your Google Drive and signs you out.
Option B — do it yourself, without the app
The backup sits in a private, app-scoped area of your Drive (it isn't a normal file you can browse to), so you delete it from Drive's app settings. This one must be done from a desktop web browser — the option isn't in the Drive mobile app.
- Open drive.google.com on a computer.
- Click the gear icon (top right) → Settings.
- Click Manage apps in the left menu.
- Find OmniFret (you'll see "hidden app data" listed under it).
- Click Options (the ⋮ menu) → Delete hidden app data → confirm.
Google's guide: Manage apps connected to Google Drive. Freed storage can take up to 24 hours to show in your account.
Remove OmniFret from your Android device
This clears everything stored locally — settings, your level and stats, and any imported Guitar Pro / PDF files (those were never in the cloud backup).
- Press and hold the OmniFret icon → Uninstall.
- To wipe data without uninstalling: Settings → Apps → OmniFret → Storage → Clear storage.
Reminder: this does not touch the Drive backup — use the step above for that.
Delete your iCloud backup
Option A — from inside the app (easiest)
Open OmniFret → Settings → Sync → tap "Delete iCloud backup" and confirm. This removes the backup from your iCloud.
Option B — do it yourself, without the app
The backup lives in your iCloud's private storage for OmniFret, so you delete it through iCloud's storage settings.
- On your iPhone/iPad: open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap iCloud → Manage Account Storage (older iOS: Manage Storage).
- Tap OmniFret in the list.
- Tap Delete Data from iCloud and confirm.
On a Mac: System Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage → OmniFret → Delete from iCloud. Apple's guide: Manage your iCloud storage. (iCloud app data can't be deleted from iCloud.com, and exact wording varies by iOS version.)
Remove OmniFret from your iPhone or iPad
This clears everything stored locally — settings, your level and stats, and any imported Guitar Pro / PDF files (those were never in the cloud backup).
- Press and hold the OmniFret icon → Remove App → Delete App.
- Or: Settings → General → iPhone Storage → OmniFret → Delete App.
Reminder: deleting the app does not remove your iCloud backup — use the step above for that.
What about my purchase / PRO unlock?
A PRO purchase is handled by the platform store (Google Play or the App Store) and RevenueCat — not by an OmniFret account, so there's nothing for us to delete. The unlock is tied to your store account: deleting app data doesn't revoke it, and reinstalling then tapping Restore purchases brings it back. To remove the purchase metadata those providers hold, follow their procedures linked in our Privacy Policy.
